USU HESA SMART CAT "Scotty" is a classy 3-year-old gelding by Bet Hesa Cat, out of a WR This Cats Smart mare, Dear Abby. With an excellent foundation, Scotty is versatile and ready to go in any direction you choose. He’s quick-footed, a plus stopper, has correct turn arounds, an easy lead changer, and requires very little maintenance to keep his reining maneuvers sharp.

Scotty was started on cattle last fall with the intent to show him as a 4-year-old. He could easily be ready to show as a derby horse this coming spring, or head straight into a rope horse program today.

This gelding has been ridden extensively outside—he handles rough country well, rides out alone confidently, and was used all spring in the branding pen. We’ve hauled him to see the sights, he’s been used to judge team brandings and to start colts. Scotty is good with other horses, stands well for the farrier, and has no scars, blemishes, or soundness concerns.  Radiographs provided.
