2020 Registered Gelding | 15hh

 

Gerry is a well-built 2020 registered gelding standing 15hh with excellent feet, correct conformation, and the kind of disposition everyone hopes for. Sired by Caught Me Lookin (Smart Little Baggins) and out of a Stylish Rey (Dual Rey) mare, he’s bred to be cowy, smart, and athletic.

 

Wherever he goes, Gerry is the barn favorite. His goofy, loving personality makes him a joy to be around and a pleasure to work with. Add to that his natural talent and broad experience, and you have a well-rounded, well-traveled horse with a big future.

 

Gerry has done it all — shown in NRCHA cowhorse events across BC and Alberta, camped overnight, swims in lakes, moved cattle, roped the dummy, and just had fun. He’s even gone English and pulls it off with style, though he definitely prefers western lifestyle.

 

He’s successfully competed in Ranch Versatility with championships and top placings in ranch rail, trail, and pattern classes. He’s very safe, easygoing, and uncomplicated to ride. While he can be a bit more of a push ride until you get to know him, he lights up on cattle and turns into a powerhouse — lead changes, spins, a huge stop, circles, side pass — it’s all there.

 

Gerry is well suited to a variety of riders. He’s not what I’d call a “dead broke” beginner’s horse yet, but I have no doubt he’ll be perfect for a youth or novice with time. Right now, he’d be ideal for an eager experienced youth looking for an all-around partner, or an adult amateur wanting a safe, capable, and competitive ride.

 

He’d make a competitive Non-Pro Boxing or Box Drive NRCHA horse, with one more Derby year left in the Non-Pro Boxing. He’s been started in the bridle and is transitioning beautifully. He’s also done well in Ranch Cutting and could easily head into high school rodeo, ranch work, or roping. The possibilities are endless.

 

Gerry is my personal horse, and this is a heartbreaking decision. I have young ones coming up, and he deserves to be someone’s #1 — loved, spoiled, and fed gummy worms and Rockets .

 The perfect, loving home is an absolute must. I’m in no rush.
