Thompson Cutting LLC is owned and operated by Craig and Sasha Thompson and recently moved their operations to Teton Ridge Ridge Ranch in Weatherford, TX.

Craig Thompson's career in cutting horses began in 1996 as a cutting horse apprentice working in Brenham, Texas, where he met his future wife, Sasha.  She was then riding reining and pleasure horses.  The next several years together included many moves to take advantage of opportunities for Craig to work with other accomplished trainers.  These influences include Matt Gaines, Paul and Winston Hansma and Shannon Hall.  

 The high degree of cutting horse industry competitiveness has kept Craig motivated in establishing and fine-tuning his own training program.  Consistency in daily attention and development are the basis of his training philosophy, while training each horse to its best individual talents.  His success is attributed to a strong work ethic and his dedication to spiritual and family values.

2024 • NCHA The Non Pro 5/6-Year-Old Open Reserve Champion, Cotton Stakes 5/6-Year-Old Open Reserve Champion, Augusta Futurity 5/6-Year-Old Limited Open Champion, Southern Cutting Futurity 5/6-Year-Old Open Top 3 Finalist, plus multiple Open and Limited Open Finalist finishes at West Texas Futurity, NCHA Summer Spectacular, NCHA The Non Pro, and Augusta Futurity.

2021 • Southern Cutting Futurity Derby Open Champion, Yellowstone Cotton Stakes Classic Open Gelding Champion, Non Pro Plus the Open 4-Year-Old Novice Champion and Reserve Champion, NCHA Futurity Open Semi-Finalist, plus multiple Open, Novice Open, and Gelding Finalist finishes at Yellowstone Cotton Stakes, NCHA Summer Spectacular, Non Pro Plus the Open, and Ike Derby.

2020 • NCHA Futurity Open Finalist, Ike Limited Open Derby Reserve Champion, plus Novice and Gelding championships, along with multiple Open, Intermediate Open, Limited Open, Novice, and Gelding Finalist finishes at Cotton Stakes, NCHA Summer Spectacular, Non Pro Plus the Open, Arbuckle Mountain Futurity, Ike Derby, and Augusta Futurity.
