Scott has been training cutting horses for over 35 years and strives to provide fair, honest and quality training as well as lessons. he limits the number of horses he takes in the barn so that each and every one receives his personal attention. Scott McClurg has current NCHA earnings of $545,000+ and is an NCHA Judge (AAAA).

Some of the cutting industry's finest cutting horses were started by Scott including Slip Down Lena (won 1st go-round at the NCHA Futurity), WR This Cats Smart and NCHA Futurity Champion One Smart Lookin Cat.

Scott tailors his training to the needs of each individual horse. He tries to personalize his methods to each one, because each one is an individual. Many good horses slip through the cracks in many training programs these days because too many trainers try to make each horse fit their training style.

Scott currently works out of his own facility south of Lipan, Texas and offers quality training, lessons and clinics upon request. Originally from California, and experienced with breeding and training, Scott can offer you quality training, straight-forward advice, and an enjoyable experience!
